night president obama spoke at the democratic national convention to a thundering applause. he got all the points he wanted in there including good lines making fun of republicans idea of domestic political. >> obama: they want your vote, but they don't want you to know their plan. that's because all they had to offer is the same prescriptions they've had for the last 30 years. have a surplus try a tax cut. deficit too high? try another. feel a cold coming on? take two tax cuts, roll back some regulations, and call us in the morning. [applause] that ain't that the god's honest truth. that's all they've done since i've been alive. tax cuts and more tax cuts. i hope the president doesn't going along with them in the second term. he promised he would not. let's hold him to that promise. on foreign policy. >> obama: four years ago i promised to end the war in iraq. we did. opening up a five-point lead for president obama. the swing states are the most important. we'll get polling on that soon as well, but it looks like there was definitely a bounce in the polls for president obama after the convention. during our coverage on current eliot spitzer predicted a four-point bump. i predicted five. vice president gore, six to eight. it looks like the democratic convention went off better than the republican one if you look at the polls. now that the conventions are over, mitt romney as usual getting himself in more and more trouble. so they're answering the question. you got to under something. mitt romney's tax plan is a disaster for the budget. it would create giant deficits. how can you say you can fight deficits if your plan creates bigger deficits. he says, no, no, i'm going to get rid of the loopholes. >> give me an example of a loophole that you'll close. >> romney: people at high end taxpayers will have fewer deductions and exemptions. those numbers will come down. >> i'm cutting tax on the rich massively, but some of the loopholes i might take away

and they have a new line of attack against president obama nonsense. the minute that video got out this campaign was over. now, again i don't want to jinx it, of course a couple of miracles could happen. but you're going to begin to see as i said on the show last night that the republicans are going to pull away from this guy. in fact, we're going to show you some of that. but first, i want to put him on the clock. i am going to give you what basically romney getting clocked is two days since that video has been released. we're going to count up, and we're going to find out how many days it will take before the republicans pull the chute and say, no, we're not going to put any more money in the presidential race. we're shifting the money in the senate and congressional races because it's going to happen. you can see other people say other things on other channels, okay but i'm putting him on the clock. it's over, and i don't know if it will be day 7 19, 27, we'll have to see. at some point the republicans are going to say that's it. pull the money out we got to rescue the senate. we got to rescu

in new mexico. they thought that was one of the states they were going to be able to turn. obama won it by 15 points in 2008. he seems to be up an all the polling there right now. get out of dodge. get out of new mexico. they sent him to nevada and colorado. that's their plan to turn these states. i worked for mike dukakis in 1988 when he pulled out of the florida which was great for me, because all the senior staffers left and became the senior staffer in florida. the feeling is you know where the campaign's going when you see people being pulled like that. >> they are out of new mexico, ran for the hills in pennsylvania, ran for the hills even though michigan has perfectly height trees trees that are the perfect height. none the less, they've fled that state. >> they've taken money, not necessarily staffers. there's no more advertising going to tennessee and michigan. one interesting thing about that it's mutual disarmament. obama has stopped their ads in pennsylvania and michigan. that could hurt when you don't have any advertising. >> that's him giving up on three critical swing
